Dear Sir/Madam
I have been an avid fan of Eastenders for many years and have gained much enjoyment from watching the simple "cockney" folk in their natural environment. However I am afraid I must complain as I have realised that the soap does not accurately reflect the world in which we live. As an educated individual I of course understand that it is meant as entertainment but I’m sure you would feel very bad if a more simple minded person who felt they were watching events unfold through an actual window were to apply the lessons of Eastenders to real life. (I.e. you would not want someone to try and shoot Phil Mitchell as he is fictional so the bullets would go through and maybe even hit an innocent person!)
My suggestion therefore would be to ditch the needlessly imposed "narrative" aspect of the show and instead show life as it really is "RAW". To affect this you would need to replace characters such as Frank Baker and Wellard the dog with identical masked actors of equal heights. These actors would be wearing white body stockings marked only with a black question mark. They would occupy a space that would have no identifying features and at times new actors would enter and others would leave, no reason would be given for this. This would better reflect the structure of real life and go beyond the superficial aspects of our current social construct. I’m sure this would prove popular and I look forward to hearing from yourselves with regards to my idea.
All the best
- R. La Femme

Thank you for your e-mail.
We note your disappointment with the ending of 'EastEnders' on 02 April. However, we would stress that it contained all the elements of a classic soap episode – a wedding, high drama, and tragedy.
We acknowledge we didn't deliver the happy ending many of the audience may have been hoping for, and that for some people this was upsetting. We hope viewers will understand that our aim is to always deliver the best drama possible.
Please be assured that we have registered your comments on our audience log. This is the internal report of audience feedback which we compile daily for all programme makers and commissioning executives within the BBC, and also their senior management. It ensures that your points, and all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered across the BBC.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Regards
